{Hi Welcome}

Summer is winding down and fall is around the corner.

Can you feel it in the air yet?

Today I will share a roundup of my summer projects.

In case you missed reading any of them... they are all right here.  Just click on the heading and it will take you directly to that specific post.

Summer Home Tour

August 11, 2014,

HELLO

Welcome to my home.  I'm so glad you stopped by!
If this is your first time here, welcome to my blog.

I am a beach lover so Summer is my favorite season.
It's also my favorite season to decorate for.  I like to use the colors that you see on the beach.  The blues from the ocean and the sky, whites from the sand and the puffy clouds, greens from the beach grass and sunny yellows from the sun.  I also like to keep it simple and relaxed.

KICK OFF YOUR FLIP FLOPS AND COME INSIDE

Once you step through the door you are in our dining/sitting area.  It has a fireplace and bookshelves. Nestled in the corner is a chaise I took from our living room sectional.

SITTING AREA

This small corner goes through many changes. One year we had our Christmas tree here.

This picture was taken a little more than a year ago when I covered the dining chair cushions.
If you want you read about that here

My manager approves the change.

I hung a $5.00 ships wheel mirror (yard sale find) behind the chaise.
You can check it out here if you'd like.

DINING AREA

Sundrops and Lemons

Stainless Steel Medical Cabinet
This is one of my favorite pieces.  I rescued it from a dentist who no longer needed it.
I use it to store my dishes.

DIY Frames
I made two of these frames using leftover beadboard.
Picture of my daughter.  The seashell is covering a nail.

KITCHEN

I filled the mason jars on the window sill with beach glass and added seashells in descending sizes.

Hanging from the pot rack is a $7.00 score from an estate sale.
The pot rack was made by my husband using an old wrought iron rail. (sorry it's not in view)
I will show you that in another post.

The long peninsula separates the kitchen from the dining area.

LIVING ROOM

Our living room is where we all hang out.  It's the TV room, game room and sometimes the napping room.
I added fresh flowers and three ceramic candle holders to our coffee table.

This room is just off the kitchen.  It is separated by a wall and a pocket door.

I added a little bit of the beach to the birdcage by placing seashells inside.

Here is a view from the opposite side of the sectional.
The furniture below the TV was a hutch that I painted and transformed into our entertainment center.
On warm sunny days, I like to keep the windows open and let the breeze blow through.

I made this seashell/number tag to hang on our entertainment center.

The antique coffee table I purchased at a yard sale.

I created a small gallery wall behind the sectional using two-yard sale oil paintings and pictures of my daughter.  I probably will keep adding or changing things on this wall as the seasons change.

Draped on the back of the chair is leftover fabric from my dining chair and curtain trim projects.  Yup the chair was a $ 10.00-yard sale bargain.  Someday it will get a makeover.  I just need to learn how to slipcover a chair.

One of my favorite pictures I took of my daughter.

I hope you enjoyed the tour and picked up some ideas to use in your home!
