Have you started decorating for Christmas?  Hi sweet readers, I hope you are doing well, and thank you for stopping by! I enjoy decorating for Christmas after Thanksgiving so that each holiday has its own moment. So today I will share with you a few simple Christmas decorating ideas from a Christmas past.

I enjoy mixing new Christmas decor with what I already have to keep things looking fresh from year to year.  I keep our Christmas decor simple with a faux tree, ornaments, greenery, berries, and some ribbon. I don't like to rush my Christmas decorating in one day, rather I like to spread it out over a few days changing things here and there. This puts me in the Christmas spirit and it ends up being SO pretty!

One of the simplest ways to decorate for Christmas is with evergreens. Last year I clipped some branches from our yard and placed them in the entry inside a canvas bag.  A few years ago I used a basket to display them. To keep the evergreens fresh I filled a mason jar with water and placed the branches inside the jar.

I love how it turned out and you can bet that this will be in our home again this year because it was so easy to make!  All you need to do is gather a few branches together, twist floral wire around the end of the branches and tie them together with a ribbon.  It's that simple and I think so pretty! ☺

Make a simple arrangement in a vase with different types of evergreens.
Here I used pine and cypress.

A single branch in a vase can look elegant when decorated with a single ornament
Here I used a juniper branch with berries.

Preserve and protect fresh-cut evergreens from drying out by soaking in water for 24 hours. After they are dry spray with a light coat of anti-transpirant. This reduces moisture loss and produces a clear film that prevents wilting.

Use clippings to decorate presents.
