Baking Apples On A Snow Day

by Julie Nichols, January 22, 2014

SNOW DAY
Hi, everyone! Woke up this morning to freezing temperatures and a ton of snow.

I snapped a picture last night when it started

Checking it out
We decided to go for a walk and check out all the snow

Came Home
&
Baked Apples

This was so easy:
Peel and slice apples
Butter a pie pan & place apples in pan
Sprinkle cinnamon & brown sugar all over apples
Bake @ 350 degrees for about 45 minutes
Take out of oven and pour pure maple syrup on top
Eat as is or scoop on vanilla ice cream

YUM!!

Love when the fire is going
We have a corn stove that heats the house

Added a scoop of  vanilla ice cream

The maple syrup all warm and bubbly & the ice cream melting

This is a great dish to make on a cold snowy day

This is what we woke up to
I love how the snow looks after it first falls

KEEP WARM

  1. That looks like a cold walk but it's nice to get outside in the winter months. Love the apples. I slice some into my oatmeal in the mornings while it cooks. Sure adds a lot of flavor! Sweet hugs!
