One Room Challenge Week 3-living-family room makeover

It's already week 3 of the One Room Challenge!  I've reached the halfway point and I couldn't be more excited!  Last Week I talked about the Sherwin Williams paint color for the room that I absolutely love!  The paint color is a creamy white.  I think it is the perfect backdrop for the coastal style I am going for in the living - family room.  You can see my design plan for the room HERE.

Adding a touch of fall in the stainless steel glass cabinet

Hi friends, what do you think of glass front cabinets?  I have a large stainless steel glass cabinet in my dining room that I use to store our dishware and kitchen essentials.  Everything is visible in this cabinet so I work on keeping it neat and organized.  Today I will show you simple ways to decorate a glass cabinet for fall.

One Room Challenge Week 2 - Painting the walls

Hi, friends,  it's week two of the One Room Challenge hosted by Linda at Calling It Home.  I'm happy to say I got a lot done this past week!  I prepped the walls for painting and picked out the fabric for the new sofa.  If you missed week one you can check it out HERE.

minimal fall decorating using blue and white

I love the crisp, clean colors of blue and white, especially in my dining room.  By mixing these classic colors with different textures and patterns it is the perfect autumn room to enjoy with my family and friends.

One Room Challenge Week One-Family Room

Hello everyone!  It's time for another One Room Challenge.  This time around I will be making over our family room.  It is the room we use the most and is the first room you see when you enter our home.  Let me explain what the One Room Challenge is.  It is a 6-week room makeover challenge.  Throughout the 6 weeks, I will post updates on how my room is coming along.  There will be a ton of inspiration from designers and other bloggers during the course of the challenge.  Here is what I did for the challenge last year:  Guest Bedroom

This makeover isn't nearly as big, but I am super excited to get started.  Below are my plans for the family room.

how to make bohemian style bandana pumpkins

It's no secret that I like to repurpose!  As a matter of fact, I love it!!  I made these bohemian style pumpkins using three bandanas.  Each pumpkin has a different color leaf attached with the words love, faith, and hope written on them.

minimal styled open shelves using navy blue and white

This summer I took a minimal approach to decorating the shelves in our dining room by using a unified color palette of navy blue and white.  Every so often I'll strip the shelves down and start over using only what I love.  I placed a few pieces from my collection of transferware on the lower shelf and hung the rest of the plates on the wall.
