How to make Abstract Fabric Christmas Ornaments

Hi friends, have you noticed the abstract art trend around shops and online too?  Abstract art is a big thing right now and I love it!  Over the years I've created Christmas decor with traditional colors, but sometimes there is nothing better than adding a modern vibe to a classic idea.

Today's project is one of those classics.  I used Ball Mason Jar Lids to create DIY Christmas ornaments to hang on my tree or to give as gifts.  I used fabric with a geometric abstract pattern to add my own twist to this classic favorite.   Click through for the tutorial and my DIY photos.

Rustic Dining Room Decorated For Christmas

Hello Friends, It's that magical time of year again...Time to deck the halls, wrap the presents and trim the trees!  On Christmas morning, after all the gifts are unwrapped, my family & I gather around the table for a leisurely Christmas breakfast.  I serve pancakes with fresh fruit, warm maple syrup, freshly
squeezed orange juice and hot coffee.  I savor this moment every year!  This simple pleasure of slowing down and spending time with the ones I love is what matters to me the most on Christmas.

one room challenge week 5-fabric choices & a setback

We are in week 5 of the One Room Challenge.  This week I ran into a serious issue with a leak in one of the windows in the family room. We had a heavy rainstorm and rain leaked through the exterior siding into the window casing causing damage to the freshly painted window and window sill.  After the repairs were complete I focused on fabric choices for the space.

One Room Challenge week 4-entryway and curtains

It's time for another One Room Challenge update!  This week the mirror and area rug for the entryway were delivered, I hung the shades and curtains and finished a new project that wasn't on my original to-do list.

I also have some news to share from Linda the creator of the ORC.  Linda extended the challenge for an extra week due to the natural disasters (hurricanes and wildfires) that lead up to or occurred during the challenge.  My heart goes out to everyone affected by them.

Shipments and scheduled work have been delayed or canceled altogether for many designers so it makes sense for the extra week.  The new reveal date for the designers will be November 15th  and the new reveal date for the guest participants (me) will be November 16th so mark your calendars.

In case you are stopping by for the first time here is my design plan that I am working on.   If you'd like to catch up from the beginning you can do so here:  Week 1/      Week 2/      Week 3     Now on to week 4........
